I added some photos, which I took on Wednesday, on location in Dublin. I'm an extra for The Tudors (season 2). We spent the day on a little lane behind St. Audoen's Church. They'd totally transformed it, and other extras were selling food and all kinds of things - everything was real, even the hens. Myself and a few other extras were 'ladies of the night', if you get the drift...
The photo quality is not that good as you can't bring cameras, but I had my phone (which was mainly switched off, of course!!), which has a camera, so I managed to snap a few sneaky pics during breaks. It would have been a total dream to have my better camera on me, and actually be allowed to snap proper pics of the lane, with all the extras and everything.. But other than these few snaps, I'll just have to rely on my memory. A fence fight will take place on the lane, but it will be over quite soon, so I doubt that there will be time to enjoy the look of the actual lane. I've no idea who the characters (or even actors) were, and what the whole fight was about, but I guess I'll find out someday. We haven't even seen the first season in Ireland, but it's supposed to begin sometime this autumn.
See my photo album for more pics.
My free Moo cards (see my previous entry) had arrived while I was in Finland and Estonia. I wasn't sure if the quality was going to be so good as I used my web size photos (all 640x480 & around 75kb), but I was pleasantly surprised. I really, really love my Moo cards, and I will definitely order more of them, someday.
As I'd only picked one of each for the ten free sample cards, I'll be keeping these all to myself, but when I order more of them, I'll get a few identical cards of each photo, so that I can share them with friends, use them for cards and scrapbooking, etc..
Thanks to Moo and Vox, for the freebies!
Wow, I'm so glad that I noticed this on the Vox newsletter: Free MOO cards! I've meant to order some MOO cards for ages, but I could never decide which photos to use, and just more or less kept forgetting it.. But Vox newsletter mentioned the magic word: Free... LOL.. And they don't ask for credit card info, or make you pay for P&P (unlike many similar deals seem to do..), which is even better. I rushed to order my ten free cards, and now I can't wait to get them! I'm fairly sure that I'll be ordering more of them, too...
My main problem was the shape of the MOO cards - when I take photos, I tend to use the whole standard size area, so it's very difficult to pick only parts of those photos for the very narrow MOO cards. However, I do really like that shape and size, and when I checked the preview of the cards I ordered, they all looked pretty good, even though parts were missing.
I should actually write my intro / first post on Notepad, and save it for future cutting & pasting... I'm addicted to joining new online communities, blog sites, profile sites, etc., and I tend to write more or less identical introductions and first blog posts, yet I'm still actually typing them out for each site, rather than saving time and copying what I've already posted so many times.. lol..
Anyway, I was thinking that I might actually use my Vox blog for moblogging, though I'll have to test and see how it goes, how the posts will appear, etc. (For example, one of my Finnish side blogs makes a complete mess of my entries, if I send them from the mobile and make the mistake of using Scandinavian umlauts, which ARE a part of the Finnish language.. blah..) If I'm happy with the way my mobile entries will look here, I might use this as my main blog whenever I'm travelling - which is not very often, though. In general, just check my personal links to find my more active blogs etc.
Yay to Moo & Vox!Glad you like your cards!Vox on! read more
